The A DOWRY OF BLOOD epilogue short story, “An Encore of Roses”, is going to be out in the world before we know it! Coming to you in July, this story catches up with our three favorite vampires in a modern day setting through Alexi’s POV.
The short will be going out in my newsletter in just a few weeks, so be sure you’re subscribed at saint.substack.com to get it straight in your inbox! I’m so excited to give these characters their well-earned happy ending, and to be returning to a world I love so much.
I’m overjoyed to announce that both A DOWRY OF BLOOD and ROBBERGIRL are getting audiobooks! A huge thank you to my agent Tara Gilbert and to Kim Budnick and the team at Tantor for making this dream a reality.
I’ve heard the narrator slated for A DOWRY OF BLOOD and her voice is so beautiful and so she’s talented! She’s going to make a wonderful Constanta. I’ll be updating you guys with production timeline news when I have it, but right now I’m still on cloud nine!
The wait is over and the day is here! A DOWRY OF BLOOD is out in the world in all it’s bloody glory. My darkest, sexiest, most experimental book yet, this little gem holds a very special place in my heart. The wonderful folks at Tor.com featured an exclusive excerpt of the first few pages, which you can read here.
I never dreamed it would end like this, my lord: your blood splashing hot flecks onto my nightgown and pouring in rivulets onto our bedchamber floor. But creatures like us live a long time. There is no horror left in this world that can surprise me. Eventually, even your death becomes its own sort of inevitability.
If you enjoy the book, consider leaving a review! Reviews are a big help when it comes to visibility, especially boosting the profile of a book from a small press!
Thank you so much for being with me on this long and winding journey to publication day. As of today, this story doesn’t belong to me anymore. It belongs to you, the readers. There’s a sort of transformative quality to publishing a work, an alchemy that happens when the manuscript passes from my hands to yours, and I’m excited for all the magic this book is going to make in the world.
It’s that crisp, spooky time of year, and you know what that means! It’s time to reveal the gorgeous A DOWRY OF BLOOD cover magicked up by the phenomenal Marlowe Lune. My breath was stolen by the beauty of this cover the first time I saw it, and I’m still reeling!
A lyrical and dreamy reimagining of Dracula’s brides, A DOWRY OF BLOOD is a story of desire, obsession, and emancipation.
Saved from the brink of death by a mysterious stranger, Constanta is transformed from a medieval peasant into a bride fit for an undying king. But when Dracula draws a cunning aristocrat and a starving artist into his web of passion and deceit, Constanta realizes that her beloved is capable of terrible things. Finding comfort in the arms of her rival consorts, she begins to unravel their husband’s dark secrets.
With the lives of everyone she loves on the line, Constanta will have to choose between her own freedom and her love for her husband. But bonds forged by blood can only be broken by death.
It’s been a pleasure and privilege to work on this book with such an amazing team, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you in early 2021! Keep your eyes peeled for a release date coming soon.
Huge news! My Dracula’s brides reimagining A DOWRY OF BLOOD is going to be published by Nyx publishing in early 2021! It’s been such a pleasure to work on this novella with the editor at Nyx, Celine Frohn, and I can’t wait to share it with all of you.
This one is by far my darkest, sexiest, most experimental book yet, and I’ve had so much fun playing around with the epistolary format and exploring the intricacies of the character’s relationships.
At long last my sapphic Snow Queen retelling is here! Celebrate Valentines Day with a Snow Queen retelling full of secrets, ghosts, and a disaster bi thief and femme witch falling for each other opposites-attract style.
In a Sweden wracked by war and haunted by folk stories so dark they can only be spoken of in whispers, Helvig has been raised by her brigand father to steal whatever treasure catches her eye. When her men ambush a strange girl on the road with hair pale as death and a crow perched on her shoulder, Helvig cannot resist bringing home a truly unique prize: a genuine witch.
Drawn irresistibly into the other woman’s web, Helvig soon learns of Gerda’s reason for walking the icy border roads alone: to find the Queen who lives at the top of the world and kill her. Anyone else would be smart enough not to believe a children’s story, but Helvig is plagued by enchantments of her own, and struggles to guard the sins of her past while growing closer to the other woman.
As Christmastide gives way to the thin-veiled days when ghosts are at their most vengeful, the two women will find themselves on a journey through forest and Samiland to a final confrontation that will either redeem them or destroy them entirely. It’s DEATHLESS meets FINGERSMITH in this coming-of-age fable!

Brewing up a solution is easier said than done when your magical styles are polar opposites; throw a psychic ex and a secret society in the mix, and things are bound to get messy.
